But I happen to love both and with opening a vegetarian butcher in my own neighborhood I thought I should check out the opening party of the Vegetarische slager The Vegetarian Butcher produces vegetarian meat from soybean and lupin that is sold world wide and can also be found in a number of supermarkets.
Coffee... Beer and a Windmill
Between the Amsterdam East area and the Eastern docklands and only a short trip from Central Station and one of Amsterdams Local Markets 'Dappermarket' you can find a reall working windmill... Every day people stand in front of the mill making pictures. But passing by a few times a week I never really made a picture of it, but today I did!

Droog Design
Droog is a special place for design lovers. Situated in the heart of Amsterdam. Droog is a mini empire of design shops offering a selection of accessories, lighting, furniture, fashion, beauty products and studio work. But also a restaurant which I love! One! hotel room with a beautiful view over the roofs of Amsterdam and a beautiful designed garden a la Rosanna Orlandi.

Harvest and Company | New in Amsterdam | Leidseplein area
Two friends with a shared vision. Both naturally curious and eager to discover new things. Continuously hunting for treasures in whatever shape or form, selecting and gathering the things they love. From furniture to fabrics, from coffee to cosmetics, from magazines to music. All together this is their harvest. Harvest and Company is an amazing new one-stop-shop based in Amsterdam, specialized in high quality vintage furniture, interior goods, specialty coffee, fine art, and beautifully crafted items for travel, work and living. All with permanent style.

I am pretty proud of this project by Jeroen and Denise, you might remember Jeroen from my post about Sourced & Sold last year. And I am pleased to show you some pictures of their brand new store. It's a beautiful space, rich in history, and it’s has been used by generations of tradesmen. At Harvest they aim to create an atmosphere that inspires, excites and feels comfortable. I am pretty sure you will, just like me, love to wander around and enjoy the great atmosphere.
If you think you have seen it all... there is another space in the back. Here is where you will find people working on the latest finds and with its original wooden floors, the huge beautiful gray painted doors and the natural light coming in, one of my favorite parts of the store... But then it is difficult to choose what I like best because the whole concept is just magical and a true piece of art!

Visiting Amsterdam {Modenus blogtour}
The other day I had the pleasure to meet up with a group of fellow interior design bloggers in Amsterdam. Modenus blogtour tour stayed in Cologne and came over to Amsterdam for one day! And I loved meeting this group with bloggers from the US and Great Britain.
We had a meet up at the college Hotel in Amsterdam where they were staying for the night and then went into town to visit several places of interest to end up at Hutspot where a small meeting with other Dutch bloggers was organised. Here is a short photo impression of the places we visited. First stop at Droog
With a beautiful view on the roofs of Amsterdam there is also Hotel Droog. Where we had a coffee stop, with delicious macarons. The top floor of Hotel Droog is for guests. Central but quiet, the brightly-lit space, with bedroom, bathroom with separate bath and shower, living area and kitchen, provides a superb view over Amsterdam rooftops.
Next stop at the Frozen Fountain with an interesting presentation about design and the history of the shop.
At Moooi, Sjoerd Vroonland was waiting for us to tell about his design and answer questions. We ended our visit with a funny movie with Marcel Wanders interviewing himself.
We ended the tour at Haarlemmerstraat for a visit at SWAH (shop without a home) and Sukha where we enjoyed the shop (and the wine) and left with a little present. Very last stop was at Hutspot to meet up with the other bloggers. It was an afternoon filled with talking, laughter and meeting new people.

(Abert Cuyp area) Last week I went to check it out and here is a short impression of the new shop ... pretty amazing space !
